About Me
I am a licensed clinical social worker and a registered play therapist who is also certified in parent child interaction therapy. I have over a decade of experience serving individuals and families of all ages. I am guided by the belief that change occurs within the context of self-compassion, understanding, and accountability. I am a nurturer by nature and have a gentle and kind therapeutic approach.
I integrate the power of play with an attachment and interpersonal neurobiological approach. When we have a better understanding of our brain and our emotions, we become empowered to create change. Through play and mindfulness, I guide children and families to self-empowerment to build greater connection, learn about themselves and their feelings, build problem-solving skills, process traumatic and stressful events, and navigate life’s challenges.
I believe in the importance of continuing education and continually attends trainings to remain fresh and up-to-date on my skills as well as the latest research. Some trainings I have completed in the past include the Child Centered Play Therapy certificate through the Play Strong Institute, both Levels 1&2 of Animal Assisted Play Therapy through the International Association of Animal Assisted Play therapy, and cognitive behavioral play therapy, and sand tray.
When I am not in the office, I like to engage in crafting in the fiber arts (crocheting, knitting, spinning yarn), pottery, spending time with my family and my pets, hiking and camping.
